Why do smart people lie?

Greg Johnson claims that, if he had “the truth about Epstein,” he would hide that truth from the world. This is because he opposes the elites. In a propaganda war, truth is secondary.
Johnson’s logic is sound: if your goal is to delegitimize elites, truth takes second place. But don’t elites also do this? Wouldn’t they lie in order to legitimize their power? If we compare elites to dissidents, neither, theoretically, should be more honest.
But Johnson might argue that dissidents, on net, are more likely to tell the truth than elites. Elites have more to lose, more to hide, and more contradictions to maintain in defense of their interests. Dissidents, on the other hand, have nothing to lose, and are happy to “burn it all down.”
Another term for this attitude is “tactical nihilism.” Johnson, presumably, cares about the truth in some Kantian or Platonic sense, that truth is good in itself. But because he is engaged in a guerrilla information war, he has to sometimes employ selective nihilism to push a certain message.
I’m not immune to any of this; when I see Jon Ossoff talking about how Trump is linked to Epstein, my reaction isn’t to start counter-signaling Ossoff. Ossoff is part of my Jewish tribe — but besides that, he’s a Democrat. Although I disagree with Ossoff, if he can abuse the truth to obtain some tactical wins, I’ll keep my mouth shut.
There are many other occasions where I tend to plug my ears and pretend not to listen:

violence against women is mostly due to white men
educational, criminal, and wealth gaps are due to racism
When wokesters say these sorts of thing, I have to cringe and wince but I try to ignore these issues as much as possible. This is because I find these lies to be marginal.

The biggest problem with “the woke” is that they prevent legal segregation, and they encourage recividivism. The first problem goes back to 1968 Fair Housing Act — Republicans have had Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and Trump to solve this problem, and they haven’t said a word. The second problem is a genuine point in favor of Republicans, but it’s a mixed bag with things like the First Step Act and Biden’s exemplary record on crime.
While I do not appreciate Greg Johnson lying about Epstein, his position is morally defensibly if you believe in white genocide as a descriptive fact and a prescriptive evil.
Descriptively, if we equate white genocide as a reduction of the population from 90%+ white to <50% white, then objectively, white genocide has already occurred as a percentage of the population.
However, if we define genocide in absolute terms, meaning an absolute decrease in the population, then American whites have gone from 176 million in 1965 to 175 million in 2026 — a slight decrease, to be sure, but nothing approaching genocide.
I am a minoritarian, meaning that my political focus is on elites and their identity and ideology. From this perspective, “white genocide” (as a decline of the white percentage of the population) is irrelevant. What truly matters is the replacement of white elites by non-white elites, as a result of elite immigration, the Asian invasion, and the death of the WASP.
People like Johnson, by focusing on “white genocide” and the majority percentages, end up supporting a far-right propaganda network which produces more of the same — he actually legitimizes white elite displacement.
If Trump lost in 2016, and in 2024, the country might be less white — perhaps Democrats would have let in 30 million additional immigrants. But Joe Biden’s open borders and refugee resettlement program wasn’t bringing in elites — Mexicans and Haitians and Venezuelans are extremely underrepresented among CEOs and billionaires.
By supporting Trump, the dissident right is “fighting white genocide,” but they aren’t changing the elite dynamics whatsoever. If anything, non-white elites like Vivek Ramaswamy, Ro Khanna, Jensen Huang, Satya Nadella, and Sundar Pichai actually benefit from Trump’s unique fusion of populism and corruption.
I am not suggesting that Democrats would halt or alter this dynamic, but that Republicans are, in effect, providing cover for “the browning of the elite.” Or maybe it would be more accurate to call it “the yellowing of the elite.”
Johnson and the dissidents believe that by calling out “white genocide,” he can arrest or reverse this process. I would argue the opposite: Vivek Ramaswamy had his breakout political moment when he got on the 2024 debate stage and called out “The Great Replacement.” People like Nick Fuentes were screaming into their livestreams, “WOW BASED,” and now we see where that has gone.
There is nothing to prevent non-white grifters like James Fishback or non-white conspiracy theorists like Royce White or non-white populists like Ro Khanna from riding the “dissident wave” to power. When Johnson says his #1 goal is to delegitimize the elite, I believe him, and I think he has been extremely effective at “redpilling” intelligent young white men to join him in that quest.
I do not believe, however, that Johnson’s success will save the white race or arrest the “yellowing of the elite.” In fact, I see Johnson’s extremism as accelerating this process.
As I document in my article on Mongrels and Mischlinge, the leadership of the dissident right has become increasingly and visibly non-white. Sneako, Fuentes, BAP, Keeperman — all of these people are non-white or Jewish. Chris Rufo’s wife is an illegal immigrant, and JD Vance’s wife is Indian.
I am sure Johnson is skeptical of all these people, but that doesn’t matter. By promoting Duginist and Likudnik lies about Epstein, Johnson is fueling a populist firestorm that he cannot control. The result is not going to benefit white people — it’s going to bring a mix of Jews and brown antisemites into power.
The primary beneficiary of Trump’s success has been Israeli Zionists. In protest against this domination, Tucker, Candace Owens, Dave Smith, Dan Bilzerian, and Andre Tate have created a space for “anti-Zionist conservatives.” But out of those five celebrities I just listed, only 20% are white. This is a bad sign for Johnson’s plan.
Conclusion.
Greg Johnson wants a white country. I do not. I am not going to bridge the gap with him. We would probably be incapable of having a productive conversation. He would accuse me of being a Jewish tribalist and a lapdog of the elites, and I would say, “yes, and?”
My attempt here was not to misrepresent Johnson’s position, but to explain why the ultimate conclusion of the populist firestorm he promotes is not the nice white country he desires. Instead, it is to empower non-whites, conspiracy theorists, schizophrenics, Qanon, Israeli Likudniks, Russia, and the dissident Chinese network.
It is hard to determine whether or not anyone on the far-fight is actually persuaded by my arguments. All I can try to do is to look at my own experiences and try to help other people along that path.
When you sincerely believe in a particular ideology, whether that is libertarianism, white nationalism, or Christianity, when you find out that “Santa Claus isn’t real,” the effect is “blackpilling.” You don’t immediately change all your virtues and values; but you begin to feel as if the quest you are on is a hopeless one. This is depressing.
Depression, however, is not an evil thing, but a logical evolutionary mechanism. It is not meant to be a permanent state of being, but a transitional state from one tribal affiliation to another.
The purpose of Deep Leftism is to provide people with a positive vision of the future that is possible to achieve. Trans-racialism has the potential to usher in a new age of Faustian Judaism.
Rather than seeing race as a defensive war for survival, it can become an experimental field for creation. Make Yakub real!
