Excellent reply to Brandon!!! I found his article shortly after Kryptogal comment, and left me quite shaken afterward. Good to see you didn't miss the chance to fight this specific dragon. Also, glad to see me referenced in one of your articles (None the less in the beggining of it!!), and to know the rant wasn't directed to the kind of reader I represent. Always looking for your newest pieces. Keep it up!!!

Insofar as the Bible being "tech": -- bibble *is* a form of time-ontology enframing-device.

New Testament is, via Messianic completion (Man-God manifestation) alongside incompletion (Not-yetness of the Second Coming), a very High-Tech story that expressly introduced a new kind of linear "progression", a transcendental slave-morality of Eternal Life promised not to the Primitive-Heroic of Violence and imposed Power but to the Soul-Heroic of Surrender: still, it (unfortunately?), devises itself with intense paradoxes concerning:

1) eternal-life-as-reward,

2) the Blanket Positive of The Good News,

3) not to mention the Trinity and God's forsaken state, his transgressive ability to forsake (Father) himself in the form of the son, or even to be away-from (distant from) the Son as some Orthobro once tried to convince me, i.e. that it wasn't a paradox at all.

Still, nothing in the New Testament was Conservative: it was all as radical and intense as you correctly determine it to be, a monotheism undergoing a universalising mission that would expand and eat up all other belief-systems and primitive special-space-worship Gods like The Blob. However, once the Big Fish Blob ate all the Little Fish, like in that Game where the Fish goes around eating little fish and getting bigger and bigger, what else does the Fish have to eat?

Monotheism then enters an autophagous sequence as necessary Evils (other Gods) used in its logistics as outsourced elements to provide counterweight and justification of God's benevolence are broken down by the furthering of God's Necessity, God's Omnipotence, God's Outside-of-Timeness. Eventually, as the Contract is made more and more irrelevant, insofar as a reward system of Eternal Life starts to appear more inhuman and less binary or "heavenly" than one would hope, or at least would be able to justify on a "human"-scale of justice, you end up with the Athiesm-or-Nihilism of Post-Monotheism (which is still, in effect, Monotheism). Much in the same way that the One is just the Zero turned inside out, Monotheism is the Death of God, the Death of an Invocable Outside Power, and the death of Judgement, Morality, itself via Cartesian-Hobbesian "infini-space". Now; this is all a Theological Journey, and Hegel I think was myopic in his trinitarian blookablacka crank-crank maschine thing which, like in the film "Waterworld" where Kevin Costner drinks his own piss, Hegel reveals by the end of his obfuscation-nation bored-bleeding-and-blind booky of the Phenomenology that it's just Jesus Jesus Jesus Lord Be Praised...

Insofar as What K-dog Tiefe-Tiefe-Ewigkeit-Linksfahren is saying: the fire-and-brimstone modality is just grandstanding, obvious ragebaiting, polemical inversion, "Irony-Poison-as-Whisky-or-Even-a-Better-drug-like-w33D", -- the "point" is one of inflating the heuristic bounds of a Good-As-Progression Willing into the world. Now there are some obvious questions that either need to, or probably more likely, don't need to be answered: is progression merely transgression of norms? Are the Normal-Bug-Men a distribution problem (i.e. we, in our 130+ Elven Chateaux, are Norm resistant due to quantification issues -- the Larger Part being "beneath us" -- and therefore Minoritarian only due to a numerical mismatch...) and would Eugenics "improve" this situation or just perpetuate it as A Gaussian distribution is "rediscovered" again and again in our desperate state to fat-tail ourselves into the future? Is it actually Progressive to engineer such a thing, or is it just "Progressive" because it is an experimental option? I'm all for trying new things but I'm not sure I want to watch my gf get railed at a swingers club, I'm satisfied... for now... But ultimately I wouldn't object to some "new race" of Superpeople, so long as I'm involved and they Wuv Me So Much... The next question is, why are we trying to ask around for some more-equally-distributed assent? Elitism is an implicit stance and a tacitly-supported habit of action: esoteric by way of complexity, like a gnarly algebra problem. Conservatism, again, is not the enemy: Progressives are still conservatives, and conservatives are progressives -- each must occur in time, each must direct itself to a certain optimal state so as to be a time-abstracting Dasein thingy, that is, a HuyMayn Boing -- while Conserving that Golden Goal in their mind, maintaining a fixity of qualia-processing so as to avoid disorientation. So I think that ultimately I support Orientation as Regulation (Conservatism) -- because this is the only real thing that Politics in an Aristotelian sense can do, aim towards things as collective yoke of custom and law. Haven't quite made my mind up yet concerning Active or Passive Leviathan structures, sort of intuitively baulk at YIMBYism: my mum works with all these rather evil millionaires who spend their time breaking regulations so as to make the lives of those who buy their houses a tenth-of-a-micro worse...

I like Zoning! I like Regulation! I like Conservativism! But, and here I think we (me and the Deepak Gauche) naturally are pals, -- we are conservative in the same experimental way.

If I'm ever forced to choose a "Transhumanist" of my liking, it will be you, DLA (Even if you don't like the label, but that's okay).

“It would be like Frodo choosing to bury the One Ring in his backyard and waiting for Sauron to show up rather than going out to Mordor.”

This metaphor sucks for the point you’re trying to make. The whole point of LOTR was that you can’t use the ring for good, don’t take it into yourself and try to use it. Maintain your humanity. Frodo literally rejects the gadget. He destroys the technology at the end to preserve the shire.

Him taking the ring to Mordor is not the progressive, transhumanist slam-dunk you think it is. Quite the opposite.

Also I never said I want to yell “stop” and freeze tech exactly as it is now. I explicitly state, even in the screenshot you chose, that tech development and implementation should simply be less reckless, more careful, and more focussed on what will actually benefit and not degrade humanity. And yes, for that reason some tech needs to be repudiated, not just kept where it is.

Also, my main point stands: basing present decision making around protecting humanity against Von Neumann probes and the future explosion of the sun is insane and unbelievably impractical. Having our decision-making be governed by such abstract, fantastical, and distant ends means that our decisions are not based on their actual outcomes for current and near-future generations. Which means we won’t even survive to see the big scary sun explosion.

Your accelerationism will destroy everyone well before we need to be concerned about such things.

I don’t like transhumanism because they’re too optimistic and it makes me depressed when I know none of their fantastical predictions about ASI or space colonialization will ever come true anytime soon. Genetic engineering is the only futurist meme that looks to be legit, which is pretty cool.

Bro come on. You need to knock up a girl you met at a bar. There’s a better path for you than this Hanania perma-troll lifestyle.
