You're basically advocating for 1990s style-liberalism. It seems like you're guilty of what those on the left frequently accuse the right of - wanting to go back to some romanticized time in the past. Do you really think America can go back in time?
According to you, if I don't advocate for something that has never been tried before, and that no one has ever heard of, I am necessarily "romanticizing the past" and "wanting to go back."
Not true. By supporting globalization and anti-natalism, I am supporting a continued change of America and the entire world. The policies that I advocate for would result in a growing number of people around the world speaking English; it would result in fewer children and higher levels of wealth; it would result in greater movement of people across borders.
If my policies were implemented, the world in 5 years would look very different from how it looks today, let alone 1990.
The culture of America in the 1990s was relatively conservative. A majority of people opposed interracial marriage. Gay marriage was illegal. It was illegal to be gay in the military. The 1990s was a period of change from that conservative, Evangelical baseline toward the more liberal culture of the 2000s and 2010s.
You're making a very twisted argument that could be used against anyone who even uses human words. "Curious, you're using vocabulary that was invented in the 1500s. Sounds like you're a traditionalist. Why don't you make up an entirely new language that's never been spoken before? How can you claim to be a progressive." This is silly.
I think Trump royally fucked up by cutting STEM spending. It would've been a much better look to pad hard STEM programs while defunding "woke" science. Also the botched deportations and lack of due process are horrible optics even if Biden deported more people without trials than Trump. Optics optics optics. When will they learn?
I thought that this was a good idea to prevent kids from infecting adults? What am I missing here?
"I will say, however, that I don’t really mind if the DMV or Postal Service is 90% black. Where there’s a risk of catastrophic failure, sure, outlaw DEI. But where the biggest risk is that my wait time in line is longer, I don’t think it’s a civilizational threat. Reserving low-level bureaucratic positions for people of color is a form of discrimination against poor whites, sure, but sometimes you have to chop a few onions to make the tossed salad of multi-racialism."
Sure, but how about also reserving some of these jobs for neurodiverse people?
Black people are a political and cultural bloc with the capacity for rioting. Autistic people aren't. I'm paying the Danegeld. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I'm not saying it's the ideal form of justice, but paying off people to prevent them from causing problems is functional and pragmatic.
Regarding COVID masking, the sociological and psychology costs of COVID masking were so high that they could not be justified given the actual death rate, which was already known as early as April 2020. To convince you, I would need to quantify the cost of the psychological damage, and compare to the increased death rate. In general, I reject safetyism, especially when it is about stealing the childhood of kids for the benefit of old people. Same reason I support cuts to social security.
It's the duty of adults to protect children, not the other way around. It made me so angry to hear people refer to children as viral vectors - so dehumanizing - and you'd never hear someone refer to adults like that. Masks make learning language more difficult and impair expressive and receptive speech. It's not normal to wear a mask when interacting with people. It also stunts social development. It was a terrible idea.
I don't care if government agencies have a disproportionate amount of any one race. I care if racial groups are being discriminated against. Affirmative action started to give American blacks a leg up after decades of discrimination and persecution. Now it's been expanded to include everyone BUT whites. That's the problem with government programs. Once they begin, they get expanded and expanded and expanded beyond how they were initially sold and any cutback whatsoever is almost impossible to achieve.
"For example, if you’re Israel, in order to get what you want, you don’t need to convince every smart person to support Israel. There are plenty of people who aren’t your opponents; they are effectively neutral non-combatants. All you need is to be smarter than AOC, the Squad, and Thomas Massie put together. If you can achieve that, you win."
And if you can phase out the US aid, manufacture enough of your own weapons, and deal with Iran by yourself, then Thomas Massie and Dave Smith become neutral non-combatants as well. I think right-wing hostility toward Israel will be a passing phenomenon, except among antisemites who are generally low IQ. Once Israel wins militarily and weans itself off American aid, then everyone on the right except antisemites will shift towards them.
Trump gave more than any other right winger in a long time and a lot more than I thought he was gonna do. If tarrifs are a blunder than fine, this is still better than the alternative. I mean your "shorting trump" by what, longing Kamala?

"When will they learn?" Idk, but I'm not holding my breath.
