Training the Body as a Religious Duty.

I published an article on August 1st describing the importance of physical training. It got a positive response, so I figured I should expand upon it and format my ideas in a more visually pleasing manner, with the aid of images, and melodic voice-over.

Against Steroids

Steroids increase strength, but they do not increase training. Training = effort multiplied by time. Steroids do not increase your level of effort or time in the gym. They increase your strength. Being strong has diminishing returns. If you train hard, you will be strong enough for everything you need. Unless you are directly earning money from your strength, as a professional athlete, taking steroids does not increase training.

Steroids lower endogenous testosterone production, which results in a form of chemical dependency. Steroids give you acne. People who go on steroids, and later come off them, end up (in some cases) having permanently lower testosterone levels. There are many people (Bruce Jenner) who do steroids, come off them, and become transgender. Do not mess around with steroids.

The benefit of training isn’t merely physical. It’s psychological. Training has two effects:
