I am hesitant to paywall content that is objective, scientific, historical, or of public interest. I have such a small audience that if I paywalled my best stuff, there would be less growth, and I would throttle the future.
At the same time, I want to reward the 30 people who have chosen to donate to me one pound of free range, organic chicken per month. As a result, I’m upping my “personal paywalled posts.”
I will still publish a monthly newsletter, with all the stats of my viewership, growth, success and failures. In addition to that monthly newsletter, which comes out on the 21st of every month, I’m also going to do three additional “personal posts,” on the 1st, the 7th, and the 15th.
These will include dream journals, regular journals, personal history, autobiography, stream of consciousness, rants, kvetching, fiction, self-reflection, trials, tribulations, triumphs, dwellings on mortality, existential contemplation, and other disorganized thoughts.
In this post, I transcribed my handwritten journals from 2013 and am uploading them to the internet. This is over 10,000 words, my longest post on Substack so far. It is embarrassing and weird. Take this as a work of fiction.
I’m also going to start this paywalled post off with a poll so you can tell me what what you want to see. If there’s not an option for your desires, leave a comment or DM me and let me know:
