I feel this overlooks the fact that looksmaxing is a very young phenomenon. Most users on the .org are probably 13-18. In high school there is not much differentiating you from your classmates, and the most obvious difference any perceptive student can see between the popular and less popular students is their appearance. Looksmaxing primarily is a status seeking method for teenagers.

Can someone truly low in IE really IEmax their way into relationships? To the extent effort makes any change at all, it is much easier to improve one's appearance than to become more likeable.

I find it hard to believe that you sincerely would place aggression and wealth as more important than physical attractiveness. A wealthy but ugly man gets gold diggers at best, prostitution at worst. Aggressive but ugly and poor probably just rapes. A physically attractive man lacking in both performs fine. He has no need for aggression as women will approach him in social settings, and a lack of wealth is quickly forgiven.

There is a reason the strategies you recommend are called jestermaxing. It feels humiliating to have to make a performance of yourself just to not seem autistic. Chad doesn't have to. In this way, looksmaxing feels much more appealing.

have you ever considered not having to?

I was kinda with you up until the nonsensical claim that people transition because of social pressure and to escape bullying. That’s got to be one of the dumbest ideas I’ve read lately

Brilliant framing here. The connection between looksmaxing and identity crisis through the lens of intuitive empathy is really underexplored tbh. I've seen guys in my own gym circles chase protocols that promise transformation but they never address the actual problem whcih is connection. The point about humor being tied to reading the room is lowkey genius because it explains why some dudes with zero aesthetic appeal still do well socially.

Ok I am convinced you're AI. Each comment you write starts with a short compliment, followed by, "this relates exactly to a group of people I have been talking to." I am being pranked.

Did the culture change in some way or are we experiencing location and class differences leading to confusion?

I have never remotely experiences bullying for being a tomboy and it was common in my day for other girls to be tomboys, these are the girls who actually tended to be healthy and have high self esteem.

Also, honest question but are there types of men who have sexual arousal when a human body has extremely odd and unrealistic proportion exaggerations? I’ve noticed some internet men being into extremely bizarre proportions, is this is some fetish? It’s beyond normal hourglass, they like it when it looks so strange that it’s unreal.

Every one of those oddballs you think doesn’t have IE has tons of it. They don’t express it because there are certain directions the culture says empathy is allowed to go, violating them that makes them vulnerable and they all have histories with vulnerability because they are low status. This continues the cycle. Those of higher status tell them to just change their personality, while many of them also say that inequality is bad altogether and deny the status games like Peter denied Jesus.

This is so stupid. It’s as much cope as anything incels say.

In the bigger picture, the accountant is not less necessary. He’s optimized to operate within institutional organization. The musician is optimized to operate in the IE world, which is simply a culture where everything that matters is below the level of rational, front-of-mind, fully aware analysis. This is a much bigger cultural factor than we admit, even as we are RADICALLY more dependent on institutional organization than ever before. Very few people are prepared for their world, as they were told the world should have to prepare for them. We hate organized, purposeful humanity way too much and deny the premises of reason in a thousand subtle ways. It’s a spoiled child’s reaction.

The autists are spoiled children too, probably forever. They didn’t have fathers and don’t know how to integrate themselves into a hierarchy with any hope of getting off the bottom. But the real mistake that led them here was putting their focus on being reasoned people instead of men in a more animal sense, which they were openly encouraged to do. The paradoxes are wild, and I won’t blame them for it.

This was good until about 1/3 of the way in when it veered off into the author's characteristic absurd caricatures of people who disagree with his politics.

What happened to exercise being a symptom of right-wing extremism?

And accountants vs artists? Pretty sure both of those professions are conventionally left-coded. "Laptop jobs?" All the rhetoric about left-wing America subsidizing right-wing America is just the claim that farmers wouldn't survive without accountants but accountants would thrive without farmers, because the accountants get paid more!

The Right is tradesmen.

The points about "looksmaxxing" and what women are actually attracted to are quite good, though; stick with that!
